Boun Khao Padabdin est organisée annuellement au 15ème jour de la pleine lune du 9ème mois du calendrier Bouddhiste lao( correspond au Vendredi, Août 26, 2022 le 14ème jour de la pleine lune du 9ème mois ). Le matin du jour de Boun Khao Padabdin, toutes les pagodes de l’ensemble du pays organisent la cérémonie traditionnelle (Takbat). Les fidèles apportent leurs offrandes aux moines pour mériter leur nourriture aux esprits des ancêtres. Dans l'après-midi, suivant le calendrier de chaque province, un autre événement spécial appelé Boun Xuang Heua ou la fête des pirogues.
Littéralement traduit de la langue laotienne Khao Padabdin "le mérite du riz enveloppé dans la feuille de bananier posé par terre" ce qui signifie que la motion est axée sur le mérite à la fois des esprits des ancêtres, sans oublier les esprits abandonnés qui ont faim, n'ont pas de famille, amis ou parents qui font le mérite pour eux. Boun Khao Padabdin is organized annually on the 15th day of the full moon in the 9th month of the Lao Buddhist calendar (corresponds to Friday, August 26, 2022 the 14th day of the full moon of the 9th month). In the morning of the Boun Khao Padabdin day, all the pagodas of the whole country organize the traditional ceremony (Takbat). The faithful bring their offerings to the monks to merit their food to ancestor's spirits. In the afternoon, according to the calendar of each province, another special event called Boun Xuang Heua or boat racing competition.

Literally translated from the Lao language Khao Padabdin "the merit of rice wrapped in banana leaf posed on the ground"which means that the motion focuses on giving merit of both ancestor spirits, not forgetting the abandoned spirits who are hungry, have no family, friends or relatives who deserve for them. At the same time, wishing them for a much better new life.

Megalithic Jar Sites in Xiengkhuang – Plain of Jars The Plain of Jars, located on a plateau in central Laos, gets its name from more than 2,100 tubular-shaped megalithic stone jars. The jars and associated elements are the most prominent evidence of the Iron Age civilization that made and used them until it disappeared, around 500 CE(common era).

Nowadays, wild elephants are becoming rare in Laos, but the Lane Xang, former land of a Million Elephants, is also the Lane Tham, land of a Million Caves. Since the early 1990s, three to four expeditions every year have gradually demonstrated the outstanding speleological potential of the country. While over 500 km of caves and giant underground rivers have already been explored and mapped, much remains to be done.
